Sheila Lynn Whitson, the daughter of Roland and JoAnn A. (Hodges) Speas, was born March 2, 1958, in Sacramento, California and died July 13, 2014, at Mercy Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa at the age of 56 years, 3 months, and 11 days. Sheila was baptized and confirmed at the Ross Calvary United Methodist Church in Ross, Iowa. She attended elementary school in Gray, Iowa then later the Audubon school in Hamlin, Iowa. Sheila was twice married and had two daughters Keisha Greve and Talona (Hall) Greve. Sheila was employed as a waitress in several of the area restaurants and worked for the Garst Company sorting corn. She moved to Sioux City, Iowa. Sheila was married to John Whitson on August 7, 2009. She worked as a telemarketer until she had to retire due to her failing health. Sheila enjoyed camping, crocheting, and making all sorts of crafts. But by far her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Sheila was preceded in death by her father Roland Speas and her mother JoAnn Bobenmoyer. Survivors include her husband John Whitson of Sioux City, Iowa; her daughters Keisha and husband Rick Ensley and their children Cody and Bailey all of Hamlin, Iowa and Talona Greve and Jeff Twohig and their children Lucas, Merissa, and Emma all of Jackson, Nebraska; her step-father James Bobenmoyer of Audubon, Iowa; her brother and sisters; Sharon and husband Merle Starman of Tama, Iowa, Jeff and wife Rachelle Bobenmoyer of New Hampton, Iowa, Corene and husband Joe Crouse of Archer City, Texas, and Leslie and husband Gary Berlinger of Russellville, Ohio; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Cemetery:
Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon.
Visitation:
The family will meet with friends Friday morning from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon.
Service:
Funeral services will be conducted by Funeral Celebrant Lee Nielsen on Friday, July 18, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon, Iowa.
