Shirley Moree

Shirley Moree, 85, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013, at the Heritage House in Atlantic after battling an illness.

Shirley Bisbee was born in Mascedonia, Iowa, July 23, 1927, to the late Theodore and Lola Bisbee. She attended and graduated from high school in Red Oak, Iowa. On July 2, 1948, she married Denver Jr. Moree in Red Oak, Iowa.

Shirley and Denver are members of the Elks Club and she participated in the Doe's. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, crocheting and spending time traveling.

Surviving Shirley are her husband, Denver of Atlantic, IA; two sons, Phil Moree of Marston Mills, MA and his partner, Raul, and Curtis (Sharon) Moree of Shenandoah, IA; three grandchildren, Mike Moree and Thomanda Moree both of Marston Mills, MA and Tanor Dukes of Shenandoah, IA; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jack (Pauline) Bisbee of Stanton, IA and Larry (JoAnn) Bisbee of Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Mary Lou (Jim) Shook of Kansas City, MO and Mae Louise (Jim) Orstad of St. Joseph, MO.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to The American Cancer Society or Alzheimer's research.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 21, 2013, at Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic. The committal service will take place in the Red Oak Evergreen Cemetery at 1:00 p.m., following the funeral.
