Stanley Craig Worster, the son of Paul C. and Norma J. Bruun Worster, was born November 7, 1951, at the St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll, Iowa and died April 6, 2010, at his home in Denver, Colorado at the age of 58 years, 4 months, and 29 days.
Stan was baptized April 13, 1951, and confirmed April 11, 1965, by Pastor Harvey Quandt at the First United Methodist Church in Audubon, Iowa. He attended Audubon Community Schools, graduating with the High School Class of 1970. Stan was a member of the Audubon County Saddle Club during high school and he traveled all over the Midwest, showing his horse. After high school Stan attended the University of Wyoming in Laramie where he received his bachelors degree in Journalism.
After college he moved to Denver, CO where he worked at the Cherry Hills Golf and Country Club as the catering manager for many years. He then later worked at the Park Place Residential Care Facility as the dining manager.
While in Denver, Stan still had his love for horses where he had one in Denver named Sue Ellen. He also enjoyed snow skiing. Stan took great pride in his nephew and niece.
Preceding him in death were his father Paul C. Worster and his brother Kent Worster.
Survivors include his mother Norma Worster of Audubon, IA; his sister Paula and husband Lyle Hansen, Jr. of Audubon; his nephew and niece: Lyle Hansen, III (Chip) of Atlantic, IA and Carrie C. Hansen of Audubon; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Arlington Heights Cemetery in Audubon.
Visitation:
The family will meet with friends Monday, April 12, 2010 at 9:30 A.M. until time of service at the First United Methodist Church in Audubon.
Service:
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Dwayne Ferguson on Monday, April 12, 2010, at 10:30 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Audubon.
