Taylor Harris

Our beloved daughter, sister, niece, and friend, Taylor Ollie Harris, age 23, went to be with Jesus on November 22, 2024, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE, surrounded by her family.

She was born to Rodney and Terri Harris on July 24, 2001, in Des Moines, Iowa. When Taylor was 3, they moved to Exira, where she attended school and graduated with honors from Exira-EHK. She then became a co-provider with her mom and dad at the beloved Terri’s Daycare. Her gift of loving and caring for children was evident to many. Taylor had 4 dogs [Lucky, Lucy, Lyric, and Lilo] and 1 cat [Cleo] who loved and raised like her children. They were her heart and soul.

Taylor’s creativity, imagination, and humor bled into everything she did. She had a passion for reading and had quite the library of her favorite books. She loved to journal, crochet, listen to music, and spending time thrifting. Taylor was never afraid to be herself and lived her life to the fullest. Taylor loved her family and spent a lot of time with them, making memories and going on many adventures.

She was survived by her parents Rod and Terri Harris, siblings Lisa Hill (Jonathan), Rodney Harris Jr. (Becky), Teresa Harris, Joseph Harris(Alexis), Samantha Calbert (KC), Frederick Harris, Joshua Harris, and Robert Harris. Best friend Sarah Kitelinger as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by Grandparents Robert Hennick, Marilyn Hennick, John Lee Harris, and Olive Harris.

Taylor's funeral will be held at noon on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Bethany Evangelical Free Church in Brayton, IA, with Pastor Alan Seehusen officiating. A luncheon will follow the service in the Exira Lion's Club building in Exira.

Public visitation with the family will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 29, 2024, at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Exira, IA.
