Ted Wohlenhaus

Ted W. Wohlenhaus, 84, of Cumberland, passed away Monday, July 30, 2007, at his home in Cumberland.

Ted William Wohlenhaus was born on August 10, 1922, in Cass County, Iowa, the son of Dietrich F. and Bessie Roberta (Brindley) Wohlenhaus.

He was a resident of Cass County his entire life and attended the Atlantic High School. Ted farmed for a living.

Ted was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ. He was a faithful church attendee until his health failed. Ted enjoyed helping with activities, especially the youth ice cream social and fall harvest dinner. He also belonged to a card club and enjoyed playing cards.

Ted is survived by his nephew, Richard Charles Wohlenhaus and his wife, Nancy of rural Lewis, Iowa; great niece, Jennifer Wohlenhaus-Bloomberg and her husband, Stephen Bloomberg of Des Moines, Iowa; great nephew, Neil Wohlenhaus of North Newton, Kansas; and cousins from both the Wohlenhaus and Brindley families.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Deitrch F. and Bessie Roberta (Brindley) Wohlenhaus; brother, Richard Wohlenhaus; and sister-in-law, Betty J. Wohlenhaus.

Graveside memorial services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 6, 2007, at the Atlantic Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ.
