Teresa Brown

Teresa Jo Brown was born July 15, 1962, in Audubon County, the daughter of Richard L. and Bobbie Jo (Davis) Anderson and passed away Thursday, December 3, 2009, at Colonial Manor in Anita, Iowa.

She grew up in Anita where she graduated from Anita High School and then continued her education at Maryville College in Missouri.

In the past, Teresa was employed in the medical field as a clerical worker in Anita and at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic. She enjoyed helping people with their medical insurance needs.

Teresa had a passionate love for cats. She also enjoyed cooking, reading, and having coffee with friends. Teresa was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. In 2001, she and her friend, Dana traveled to Minneapolis to watch the Vikings play. She cherished the time she was able to spend with her friends and her cat.

She is survived by her father, Richard L. Anderson of Brayton and Quartzsite, AZ; her brother Richard M. Anderson and wife Charlotte, of Hayes, KS; step-brothers, Dan and Richie Paige of New Virginia, IA, and Tom Anderson of Oakland, IA; step-sisters, Jody Griswold of Bethel Island, CA, Patti Wilson (Jeff) of Adair, IA, and Kathy Paige of Shelby, IA; aunts, Veda Larson of Audubon, IA, Lola Bennett of Quartzsite, AZ, Delores Anderson of Northfield, MN, and Florence Anderson of Waukee, IA; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Dana Larsen, Shirley Stender, and Vicki Murphy.

Teresa was preceded in death by her mother, Bobby Jo Lees; step-father, Dempsey Lees; step-mother, Rose Joy Anderson; her maternal and paternal grandparents.


A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 20, 2009, at 12:00 noon at the Anita Congregational United Church of Christ in Anita, Iowa.

Hockenberry Family Care Funeral Home in Anita is assisting the family with arrangements.
