Timothy Stein

Timothy Robert Stein was born August 9, 1971, the son of Robert Carl and Theresa Cecilia (Goeser) Stein in Atlantic, Iowa, and passed away Monday, July 14, 2014, at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE.

He attended the Atlantic Schools and the Walnut High School. After high school, Tim worked at the pork plant in Harlan, IA, and Sandy's Bar & Grill and the Amoco station, both in Walnut, IA. Tim entered the United States Army hoping to see the world, but never had the opportunity to go overseas. He served for six years.

On November 20, 2004, Tim married Tanya Rae Williams at the Peace United Church of Christ in Walnut. Tim also worked for Henningson Construction and most recently at Schwan's, both in Atlantic.

Tim was very family oriented and lived for his wife and sons. He believed that you didn't have to be blood to be family. Tim was strong willed, which served him well during his long illness. In his spare time, he enjoyed smoking ribs, barbequing and fishing. Tim was a member of the Walnut American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Stein.

Tim is survived by his wife, Tanya Stein of Atlantic; his sons, Tayten and Tytus Stein and his dog, Squeak (also known as Tripod) of Atlantic; and his parents, Theresa (Dennis) Holtz of Walnut; his siblings: his sister, Lauri Stein (Stefan) Jones and their children, Stephanie, Annabelle and Melody all of St. Paul, MN; his brother, Clint (Kate) Holtz of Boone, IA, and brother, Kent (Marianne) Holtz and their children, Kael and Ryan all of Osage Beach, MO; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Laymond and Linda Williams of Walnut; his sisters-in-law, Brenda Osborn and her children, Mark, Tyler, Travis and Makala all of Atlantic and Tinna (Roger) Arbuckle and their children, Randy, Shelby and Heather all of Walnut; his brother-in-law, Tim (Ruth) Glines and their children, Justin and Tanner all of Walnut; aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 18, 2014, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary service at 6:30 p.m. all at Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic, IA.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Zion Lutheran Church in Atlantic, IA.

Burial will be in the Brighton Township Cemetery, north of Marne, IA.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
