Vashti (Greenlee) Sessler was born at home on September 28, 1920, to William F. Greenlee, Sr. and Minnie (Gordon) Greenlee in Oshkosh, Nebraska. She was the sixth of eight children.
Ty graduated from Garden County High School in 1939 in Oshkosh, Nebraska. She then attended Hastings College majoring in English. After 2 years of college, she moved to Lincoln, Nebraska.
Ty was a "Lincolnette" - one of a large group of girls who met at the Cornhusker Hotel on Saturday nights to dance with servicemen. This is where she met Walt. They were married June 20, 1948. The family moved to Hastings, Nebraska, in 1958 and lived there over 40 years. They were long time members of Faith Lutheran Church in Hastings, Nebraska.
Employment for Ty included working for the State Legislature in the Lincoln State Capitol, an insurance agency in Hastings, Adams County Courthouse, and Sessler's Tax Service.
She was very active in her children's lives as a Brownie Scout Troop leader, chauffeur, and coordinator of the kids' activities. She enjoyed being with her grandchildren.
Walt died June 24, 1997. Ty then moved to Lincoln in 1999 and eventually to Omaha in 2005.
Ty is survived by her children, Karen (Jim) Barnes of Glen Ellyn, IL; Jean (Tory) Ewing of Omaha, NE; Bill (Chris) Sessler of Lincoln, NE; Elaine (Scott) Bogenholm of Barnum, MN; Barb (Dana) De Witt of Yankton, SD; and Linda (Ken) Tylor of Glendale, AZ; 20 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 20, 2012, at St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Omaha, NE.
