Vickie Peerbolte

Mrs. Vickie Charlene Peerbolte, age 76, of Atlantic, IA, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Cass Health in Atlantic, IA.

Victoria (Vickie) Charlene Peerbolte was born on September 10th, 1948, in Iroquois, Illinois, to Maurice and Dorothy (Shrimplin) Faupel. She was the youngest of three sisters.

She graduated from Donovan High School in Donovan, Illinois, in 1966. She then attended Eastern Illinois University, majoring in Journalism. On February 22, 1969, Vickie married Ronald Lee Peerbolte, her high school sweetheart. She worked at various newspapers as a journalist in Illinois until moving to Atlantic Iowa with her husband Ron in 1972, where they settled and opened Peerbolte Chiropractic and raised their three boys.

Vickie was extremely involved in the local community of Atlantic and her Church, SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She served as the president of the Council of Catholic Women and was recognized as the CCW Woman of the Year. She held several other volunteer roles in the Church which eventually led to her taking on the role of Parish Secretary. Within the community she was a member and officer in Delta Zeta Sorority and P.E.O. She adored travelling both with her family as well as her close friend circle, affectionately known as the B&B Girls. Vickie and Ron were avid golfers and active members of the Atlantic Golf and Country Club. She enjoyed gardening with Ron and often spent her mornings watching the birds and squirrels in her yard and garden. She loved to spend time with her sons and grandchildren and her greatest love language was cooking for them from scratch.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Dorothy, and her sisters Maureen Bauer and Nancy Sennett, her in-laws, Joseph and Darlene Peerbolte and brother-in-law
Vaughn Peerbolte.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Ron Lee Peerbolte, and her sons Dr. Brad Joseph Peerbolte (Amy Selover), Curtis Maurice Peerbolte (Johanna Guthrie), and Dr. Mitchell Lee Peerbolte (Jennifer Peerbolte) and grandchildren, Chance, Charlotte, Roman, and Alora.

Vickie's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 28, 2025, at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Atlantic, IA, with interment to follow at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery. Following the committal, a luncheon will be held in the Schmidt Family Funeral Home Community Room.

Public visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., with the Rosary at 7:00, on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Atlantic.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Peerbolte Family; these memorials will be used for Masses or designated at a later date in memory of Vickie. They may be mailed to the Schmidt Family Funeral Home P.O. Box 523, Atlantic, IA 50022.
