Wilma Faye Frederiksen

September 22, 1918 — February 18, 2012

Wilma Faye Frederiksen, the daughter of Jacob C. and Emma D. Boseck Miller was born September 22, 1918 in Pocassett, Oklahoma and died February 18, 2012 at the Friendship Home in Audubon, Iowa at the age of 93 years, 4 months, and 26 days. Faye was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Audubon, Iowa. She attended rural school in Melville Township, Audubon County, Iowa. Faye helped at home and then was employed at the Audubon Bakery for several years. On January 30, 1943, she was united in marriage to Richard Leroy Frederiksen in Enid, Oklahoma where Richard was stationed at that time during WWII. Two children Sherry and Neal were born to this union. After Rick was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army they moved back to Audubon. Faye was employed at the Audubon Shoe Store and later worked for L & M Shoes until she retired after 28 years. During retirement, Rick and Faye enjoyed traveling. Rick died April 6, 2002. Faye lived at home then later moved to the Friendship Home in Audubon in April of 2009. Faye was a life long member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Audubon and was active in the Naomi Circle. She was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, Post No. 4119 Audubon, Iowa. Rick and Faye enjoyed Polka dancing and were the King and Queen of Polka from 1994-1995 in Arcadia, Iowa. Faye enjoyed playing cards and board games. She always had a vegetable garden and enjoyed canning the produce. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Faye was preceded in death by her husband Richard “Rick” Frederiksen; her parents; her brothers and sisters: Goldie and Jack Murray; Beulah and George Rasmussen; Edgar and Lois Miller; Grandville and Lula Miller; Reford and Hilda Miller; Claire and Esther Miller; and Jake Miller. Survivors include her children: Sherry Ann and husband Joel Kreger of Savannah, Georgia; Neal Richard and wife Barbara Frederiksen of Modesto, California; her grandchildren and great grandchildren: Stephanie and husband Jeff Crosby and their children Peyton and Benjamin all of Savannah; Melinda and husband Jeffrey Belcher and their children Sydney and Ethan all of Savannah; Stacey and husband Ray Avansino and their children Ray, Jr., Ava and James all of Modesto; Jill and husband Andy Cross and their son Brayden all of Modesto; Ricky Frederiksen of Modesto; her sisters-in-law: Evelyn Miller of Independence, Iowa; and Marge Miller of Kansas City, Missouri; her very special friend Gladys Riesgaard; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon, Iowa.



Visitation:
The family will meet with friends Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 P.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon.

Service:
Funeral services will be Thursday, February 23, 2012, at 10:30 A.M. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Audubon, Iowa.
